About Us

Aquarobics Ltd was originally set up to run training courses for teachers of Aquarobics, and to market related products. The Aerorobics initiative has now been incorporated as a major subsidiary activity. This started with Glenda Baum's "Little Book of Healthy Flying", written by her and published in July 2001, by Arrow Books. Harold Baum then set the exercises as song lyrics, and a team of talented family and friends was assembled to turn these into a musical album.

Meet The Aerorobics Team

Glenda Baum

Glenda Baum - Deviser of Aerorobics
Twenty years ago, Glenda Baum (MCSP, SRP, MSc), a well established Chartered Physiotherapist, devised “Aquarobics”, the system of keep-fit, exercise-to-music in water. The system became so popular that the word “aquarobics” is now a generic term included in the dictionary! Glenda has now developed a new system of exercise to carry out while flying, without disturbing other passengers.

Harold Baum

Harold Baum - Lyricist
Professor Harold Baum (BSc, PhD, FRSC, FIBiol, FKC), Emeritus Professor of Biochemistry and Visiting Professor in Immunology at King’s College London, is famous for setting unlikely subjects to music - his “Biochemists’ Songbook”, (metabolic pathways set to traditional melodies), is a renowned international best-seller, and his “Biorhythms I & II”, (O-Level General and Human Biology set to original music), have been widely featured on radio and TV. He has been described as “the world’s leading exponent of the biological ballad”!

Linda Gelernter

Linda Gelernter - Vocals
Linda studied at the American Musical & Dramatic Academy in New York and was their first British scholarship graduate. On her return she became one third of "The Swing Shift", an all girl close harmony trio. As well as a Nationwide UK tour, the girls had three fabulously successful tours of Japan with a big Glenn Miller Band. She has since performed solo work in many well known venues around the country and has sung with several function bands. But in the last few years her main productions have been her 2 sons!

Peter Slade

Peter Shade - Composer
Has been a professional multi-instrumentalist and composer since leaving school. He has been involved in all of Harold's creative science music projects, playing and making the sound track for "The Biochemists Songbook", and doing that as well as composing the songs in "BioRhythms I & II". He and Harold have also produced some wonderful, more conventional songs - which are waiting for a chance to be heard. His children, Tom and Amanda were members of "The Metabolites", the group set up to record "BioRhythms I & II."

Paul Gringras
